Your Weaknesses and Potential

The bible is full of examples of how God used people who were less than perfect to fulfill his missions.

For instance Moses had anger issues. He also had a speech problem. But God looked beyond that speech problem and still chose him to lead almost 2 million Hebrews out of Egypt.

Then there’s David. David throughout his life made many mistakes. He committed adultery with Bathsheba who became pregnant. He further proceeded to allow her husband Uriah to be killed in the line of battle. But David was a man after God’s own heart because David had faith in God. He also repented of his sins and asked God for forgiveness, for which God granted.

Peter, originally Simon was a fisherman and a somewhat impulsive person. But Jesus saw beyond that and changed his name to Peter which meant rock. There are times when Peter lost faith, for instance when he started to walk on water, but took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink. Then there was the time he tried to kill one of the soldiers of the High Priest when they came to arrest Jesus. But Peter eventually became a more humble person and fulfilled his mission of spreading the good news of Jesus.

While they all faced consequences for their weaknesses, God never stopped loving them. He continued to use them and they all fulfilled their purpose. God would take your weaknesses and flaws and turn them into something positive if you just have faith.

God defines who you are, no one else. Don’t allow anyone to define who you are. You are made in the image of God.
